International Mountaineering Film Festival in Teplice nad Metují

Slovak film Unwanted self-portrait (Nechcený autoportrét) by Raso Hatiar yesterday received the Grand Prix of the film competition of this year's International Mountaineering Film Festival in Teplice nad Metují, Czech Republic.
Results of the 38th MHFF film competition:
Grand Prix: Unwanted self-portrait (Raso Hatiar, Slovakia). For a deep inner settlement with death in the mountains. The screenplay was written by life itself, and the director inadvertently became the protagonist of the drama of the loss of a climbing partner.
Best Documentary: The Horse Tamer (Hamid Sardar, France). Filmmaking and artistic direct, perfectly processed docudrama about the organic relationship of Mongolian horse tamers.
Best Climbing Film: Ocean to Asgard, (Heather Mosher, Canada). He impressed the jury with his unconventional design and humor, but also to the complexity of the entire expedition.
Main sponsor's award: Godspeed, Los Polacos (Adam Nawrot, USA). A well-crafted documentary of a great sports and life adventure, courage and social commitment.
City of Teplice nad Metují Award: Kdy to klapne bez odsedu Těké okovy VIIIb (Stanislav Mitáč, Czechia). A cinematic short documentary about climbing a dangerous and badly secured route in the Adrpach Rocks, starring the protagonists who are trying to revive the ancient art of climbing wide joints.
Honorable mention for the best animated film: The Great Mileston (Lopez Fabregas, Spain). For a funny animated film, full of references to the times in which professional mountaineering was born.
Honorable mention for the beginning young filmmaker: The Torture of Muro (Michal and Martin Murár, Slovakia). The jury appreciates the original theme and interesting elaboration of the document.
Special Jury Prize: Lock Down Rock up (Nico Hambleton, England). An intimate and authentic story that gives climbing against a pandemic another new meaning and dimension. In addition, the film is beautifully crafted.
