Dimarock 2008

Basque 23/25 May 08

Next weekend the another annual of Master Dimarock competition takes place in Basque country on the northern Spain for invited elite climbers (this year agian with the Czech champion Tomas Mrazek)

and besides it there is on Saturday 24th May 2008 international open Championship of Basque country Open International Dimarock.

The invitation came from the organizeres for the interested climbers who would be around the area.

More info about the schedule and registration for the Open competition are on: dimarockmaster.com

Dima 2008 should display new competition formats, and Dimablock would be the most innovative of them.

    * Four mighty bloke specialist, face to face: Chris Sharma, Dani Andrada, Tomas Mrazek and Joseba Sainz.
    * Each one will settle its own boulder problem. 30 minutes is the time limit for it.
    * After that, the specialist will try to solve their rivals proposed routes.
    * Each boulder problem is 600 euros worth. This value will be shared if more than one specialist can succeed (150€ for each one if all of them succeed).
    * Therefore, the maximum award available is 2.400€.

The competition demands huge strategy capabilities: An easy route will be surely solved by everyone, but if it’s too difficult maybe will be inaccessible even for the creator. Knowledge about the rivals is pretty useful in order to settle a technical or dynamic oriented route …, the organizers writes on the web.

Dimablock is scheduled on Friday 23rd May 2008 from 20:00. Look at dimarockmaster.com
