A new outdoor artificial climbing wall in Prague was opened a couple months ago. It is built from concrete and climbing routes lead via artificial holds with help of the structure of surface. Jan Špáta, maker of a trad climbing documentary film died
The Czech excelent film document maker Jan Špáta died. He is the author of the top climbing film about Czech sandstone climbers "Okamžik radosti" (The Moment of Enjoyment) from the 1965 which had been one of the best films presented last years in the International Mountaineering Film Festival (also known as Festak) in the town Teplice nad Metují (North-East Bohemia). ... full story

The sixth UIAA World Cup in lead climbing 2006 took place this weekend in Kuala Lumpur (MAS).
Tomáš Mrázek finished the sixth and he is now the first in combination ranking (lead and bouldering).
Tomas Mrazek ended the 10th on the last competition of the World Cup lead climbing in Singapore last weekend 05./06.08.2006. The speed was without Czechs. ... full story
